Excellent story....

Carol,

"Abandoned" is quite excellent... Thank you for sharing it with all of us on this thread... a story that speaks on many levels...

I should mention that, as a person living in the country, I've had my share of abandoned cats and dogs left at the front gate. Also, I have some friends with a nice farm nearby...and I suppose there is something "inviting" about their place that says "animal lovers live here". They have had more dogs and cats abandoned in front of their place than you can imagine. One morning they heard a car stopping on the gravel road while they were doing chores. A few minutes later, a small dog and 2 cats, walked up their laneway like they'd bought the place and were ready to take possession... Hmmmm... lucky for them that their previous owners "picked" the right place... Unfortunately all animals aren't so lucky...

Well, thank you again for the story,

Croc ;-}

It's Spring Again
and Honey is not so thin after that winter.
When she was younger, she didn't get a lot
heavier, she's six now.
A dogs life is so short.
I am sure we will be her "family" for ever.
I know for my children, it
will be one of the tragedies of their childhood.
I will own another dog, it won't be Honey.
