It's nice to see some new posts here. Just letting you all know that I haven't forgotten this thread.

Yes, spring, which is always fitful here in Western Oregon, is slowly arriving. I'm not getting Ella out enough and she is overweight, too.

She's peeing in the house because she's mad at me and bored, and I'm feeling guilty but somehow cannot get motivated until it's a bit warmer outside.

Can someone say something to me to get me off my butt!

thanks, peter

A summer with no pond
The development continues apace behind our abode
with a farmers field being turned into
a new residential subdivision.
There used to a hollow
where the farmer maintained a large pond
for his cows to come and drink.

Sitting on the hillside he tossed
the tennis ball far out into the pond.
The cows watched with interest
and some concern as the small gold dog
raced down the hill
and leapt into the water
It was her ball
The ducks moved closer to see what was
going on

The cat they had, used a hook to make
a long trench to the nearest storm sewer
Then a few well placed digs caused the remaining dam
to give way
The cows had left already
The ducks left shortly thereafter
as the water level dropped
