I see what you're saying. Isn't SatMex going to do DTH as well?

Someone on the Yahoo thread said "I can't wait to see what they do wit the profits from C* and G*. Loral doesn't pay a dividend, remember." I'm just trying to figure that out too- cause if they don't pay a dividend in 2005 or so and things go as planned, they will have to find something new to plow the money into! (Forgive the cheerleading)

Valueman, I'm right with you and would vastly prefer that LOR stay in the pipe business and not the content business. BUT,
Dragonfly raises a disturbing (to me at least) point. In the LOR Annual Report, Bernard Schwartz repeatedly emphasizes "value added services" vs. simply leasing transponders. Despite re-reading, I was unable to get a specific grasp on what BS was really saying but there is no doubt that he was signalling some form of shift, directional change, or at minimum, major incremental addition to the core transponder leasing business. Please grab your copy, and see if you agree or if I'm just misinterpreting.

Dragonfly, I think DSP's are great and would enthusiastically support your idea. I actually think it's even more important for employees than for shareholders, but count me in.

Geoff, if you're going to the LOR shareholder meeting and get a chance, I'd greatly appreciate a clarification of this 'value added services' thing. It's very important IMO as I don't fancy owning my pro rata share of All Star Wrestling and M*A*S*H syndicated re-runs. Thanks, Mike Doyle
