I asked myself the same question, and I think maybe they will try and get her some good press by getting her more access to the "mainstream" media.

I'd say the principal idea here is to embarrass Clinton. Yes, she's being used, but surely she realizes that. It could be a pretty unpleasant experience for her, but then perhaps she'll be paid. And perhaps she doesn't care. She could also end up behaving badly; the Times should beware.
