Phil,

I think the shorts will reflexively short this one because it has worked before and they can grab onto the $1.4 B revenue number and continued declining market share (or is it slightly up this quarter?) as their rationalization. But the market often goes against the easy way. I wouldn't be surprised if these most recent shorts get burned very quickly.

Still a nice wall of worry for AAPL to climb, and that's useful.

Marc

PS--You've got 5,500 + shares? Cool.

Yeah, probably nice time to pick up some more stock or LEAPS,
since once we past the expiration I suspect we will see slow
appreciation.

Hi Phil..

I really do not understand the psychology of AAPL. Even when it reports great earning results, it also moves back. I know that today is the option's expiration day, but still think that with the latest good news and raisings by Bear Stearns and others, the stock should soar.

Any thoughts?!..

EssaM..

Phil,

What do you mean by "wait it to get expiration and be exercised next Monday."

I've only been trading options since December, and was under the impression that today was my last shot unless I exercised my 25s to get the underlying stock.

(I'm still holding 17 April 25 calls. I have resigned myself to the fact that my April 30s are dead. Here's hoping for my May 30s!)

Michael

Ok. I sold my Apr 22.5's, and I have my leaps, just hate to lose on the April 30's, though it does seem inevitable. I don't suppose Steve Jobs would be kind enough to announce at 3PM EST today he's taking the permanent position?

(Uh oh. He'll hate me for saying that.)

All (off topic): Would you believe that my 3400c/240 is missing again? Airborne says they don't know where it is, but since it's not in NY yet, I won't be getting it today. Can we draw any conclusions from the frequent disappearance of this computer for one day during shipping? Is it statistically significant that it disappeared for one day on the way to Apple repair and now has disappeared again on the way back? Aren't we glad I bought a G3 to keep me warm.
