Albert, my cat is table trained, whenever I eat he gets on the table. On occasion he will grab a hot bit of meat with a paw and try to bite it. If it is hot he drops it hisses and tries to kill the prey that bit his mouth. Lacking knowledge of temperature the pain from hot food = a prey biting the mouth=bang it to death with a paw, and that is what he does, hisses, and bangs it, and it works as it soon stops biting.

BTW, cats are easy to table train. just take one table, add one cat and one piece of chicken....done.
