If NSCP was certain of maintaining majority market share, this would be true. But MSFT has taken, and continues to take market share from NSCP where it hurts. Therefore, it is IE and the MSFT platform that looks to be the standard. In order for NSCP to fight this they must fragment. It is not in NSCP's best interest to have a standard if that standard is not NSCP. AS things appear to look to NSCP mgmt., NSCP as a standard appears unlikely under the route they were currently pursuing.
