Oh, right Reggie. Is this one of Nathan Myrhvold's Nixon era dirty tricks?

I'm sure hackers will do new stuff with Netscape source, but how are they going to "fragment" standard functionality? If new stuff comes in that's worth propagating, it will be a lot easier to get it widely implemented in different hardware environments under Nav than under IE. Especially if what's new happens to conflict with some Microsoft business plan or other. As far as innovation goes, sounds like a lot more "open" game than anything Bill's got planned for us, but who knows?

Cheers, Dan.

AS things
appear to look to NSCP mgmt., NSCP as a standard appears unlikely under the route they were
currently pursuing.

Obviously you don't really understand what Mozilla.org is about.
Besides, I fail to see how splintering the market for NSCP's own browser would either help NSCP or hurt MSFT. Au contraire, the opposite will happen. If NSCP does not have a standard browser, then the market will avoid NSCP and gravitate more to MSFT. Your assertions to the contrary just don't hold any water.
