I think that article is a little out of date even knowing it's only a little more than a week old. The NationsBank merger will make this much more interesting. That article does make it sound as if BoA wants to compete in the e-bill, although it's not clear. In addition the NationsBank merger makes this a real question. A good question at the next conference call would be "Does the BoA/NationsBank merger hurt of help CheckFree?"

Currently BoA does its own bill pay for California, They will now have to decide if they will go national, or hand the keys over to CheckFree.IMHO. Now that BoA/NationsBank is the biggest bank, this will be real important to CheckFree. One thing is for sure, the doors are closed to MSFDC.
