just for devilish advocation, what's Gates' education in comparison to Marc or Barksdale?
I do agree that the browser should've been given away from moment 1. But. That's how the company started and they needed an income. If I recall correctly, the browser counted for about 33% of income at some point. Healthy. If it wasn't for MS' giving away IE, things might've been different. Worst of all, IMHO, if MS was the first to put out a browser, we'd be paying about $200, under the argument that, QUOTE this is what the customer wants.. blah blah blah. END_QUOTE the usual microsoft convolutions.
morale of the story.. true but sad.. Gates is a most calculating, vindicating, coldly plan executer, forward looking, shrewed genius bizman.. Nothing more.

Hello Folks,

(NSCP)

With what occurred Thursday and Friday (high volume)
My TA is showing a buy since last Tuesday (I am new to TA)
My TA is also showing (Friday) that the market is undecided about the direction of this stock, (still long term and short term other indicators are positive).

What is the opinion of the more knowledgeable investors / traders of this thread?

What does the near term (1 - 2 - 4 weeks) look like?

If anyone can look further into this stocks success or failure please state your opinion and why.

Thanks in advance...Jeff...

Clearly the browser should have been
given away from the outset.

How were they to make payroll by doing this? I agree that it should have been given away free earlier than was done, but not from the start.

<Clearly the browser should have been given away from the outset.>

Excuse me? I don't know many companies that spend money on product
development for the sole purpose of then giving the product away. I'm
sure glad you're not running MY company, we'd have had to shut down
a long time ago with no revenues. I suggest you review the historical
facts upon which your criticisms are based. There was absolutely no
reason for Netscape to give away its browser when it was first
developed. It wasn't until Mr. Gates decided to use unfair (some
would say illegal) tactics to gain market share with an inferior
product that a problem was presented to Netscape. I'll grant that
Netscape management probably didn't make the best decisions they
may have, but then again, we're all pretty brilliant with 20/20
hindsight aren't we.
