WOW! The Secret Service guy ushers Lewinsky into the Oval Office and Bill says: "She'll be in here for awhile"! My GOD! Talk about an incriminating remark!! I found the following, taken from the same article, far more interesting:On April 9 things got serious when the Virginia Office of Consumer Affairs issued a cease and desist letter to the Paula Jones Legal Fund, which she administers with her husband, Steve. The state said that since the fund wasn't a nonprofit and had not provided an audited statement, it could not solicit money in Virginia. That action may have been prompted by a running dispute between the legal fund and the Rutherford Institute, which has spent $300,000 for Jones's legal expenses and does its own fund-raising. Rutherford has taken issue with the legal fund's solicitation letters. One November letter signed by Jones discussed the need to raise $250,000 to "help my legal case and expenses related to it." The Rutherford Institute reacted with an angry letter to Braden Sparks, at the time the fund's lawyer, suggesting that the solicitation "misleads the public that others besides the Rutherford Institute are paying court costs and legal expenses for the ongoing litigation." The institute threatened to "turn the matter over to other appropriate organizations." Sparks says today that the institute "did not like the fact that the Paula Jones Legal Fund was attempting to raise money . . . . It's not at all misleading." Sources inside the Jones team, however, say Rutherford remains irritated that it has not yet seen any of the money raised. It is not fully known how Paula and Steve Jones have used the money they raised. The fund has cleared $105,000--$7,500 of which has gone to personal expenses, including Jones's clothes, a computer, and hairstyling, says Brent Perry, a Houston lawyer who helps administer the fund. Some $70,000 more has gone for travel expenses, investigators, and security for Jones. The remaining $35,000 is in the bank, Perry says.
