My own private theory is that Schwab has so many systems shaking hands with each other (customer servers, support staff servers, gateway to Mayer ....) that at certain volume levels the whole thing chokes. Market open certainly qualifies as a choke point. I used to use "StreetSmart" via compuserv and it choked much like the web pages, only then compuserv would log you off because Schwab hadn't responded. Good luck.

I have the same problem very often. It's been over two years with EShwab, and it becomes worse and worse. I'm thinking of transferring my account to other company. Is there any good one which anybody can recommend?

Best regards,

Tom,
It's Schwab and nobody else who's to blame. In my opinion the company is fat, bloated and arrogant. They're all over the news with earnings out the roof but they can't put money into fixing their web trading. Today I tried to buy 3300 sh. of EGNS @ 2 7/16 but the site's screwed up. Before I realized Schwab was down for the count, it made it's move. The last time I checked, it was @ bid $2.75. That's all I can take, the trade commission is one of the highest and they're never to blame, never offer any compensation, nothing. Very frustrating. JR
