JLA,

By "real job" I meant exactly that: a job in the legal or another profession in which he might have to actually accomplish something of merit and without an unlimited budget. Sarcastic? Yes! But very true.

I have absolutely nothing against lawyers per se. Some of my dearest friends are lawyers. In fact, I've been working diligently with the "Hug a Lawyer" movement here in the touchy-feely SF Bay Area. It's been tough.

Holly

Starr IS a senior partner at a prestigious firm. It doesn't bother me, but his detractors think it is horrible that he is still practicing on top of his IC duties.

...and was, before he became IC, a senior partner at a prestigious firm.

As noted in my previous post, he still is. No conflict of interest, of course.
