JLA,

Barring other preclusion, I most assuredly would hire him. That's why there are probationary periods for new employees.

Besides, I've seen too many witch hunts. Very often, things are not as they would first appear. My experience has been that it's usually the incompetent or marginal person who makes the biggest waves and does the most damage. What will ever amaze me is that most times they reign victorious.

JLA,

A couple of questions: Under the circumstances, wouldn't your friend have grounds for a wrongful termination or discharge suit? As for the secretary (and I use that term loosely), aren't there some charges that could be brought against her and her admitted accomplice? A few possibilities come to mind, and Federal and other documentation was involved.
