>>requesting the "clubhouse" format
applied to threads, is another way of saying this:

1) Expand the number of characters displayed in the reply listing
beneath the subject from 80 to 250 and

2) Provide a [more] indicator that says whether or not there is more
to the post than 250 characters

That plus the following:

3) Allow the "Full Message" option (I forget exactly what
you call it), that is, to display the full message text
rather than the 1st 250 + [more]. This option already
exists on current threads in that form. Nothing new here.

4) Allow the message order to be selected by thread format.

As far as I know, only 4) doesn't exist at the moment. That
is, There's only one message order option in the profile and
it applies to both types of threads. However, I'd much
prefer to read "clubhouse" format threads forward and
others backward myself.

Of course a user's choice about
how a thread is viewed doesn't exist either, which is the
really what I'd like to see. (I could live with the
forward order on other threads if I could get the "clubhouse"
form on those of my choice.)

I've been mixing up the terms "coffeehouse" and
"clubhouse." Sorry for the confusion.

Regards,

Spots

Brad, I like the new features you put in over the weekend. One request, however (isn't there always): I use SI from two different locations - one I use navigation and one I don't. I always have my preferences set to use navigation and on the computer I don't I just went to the stocktalk page and clicked the "Remove Navigation." Now it's gone. Can you put it back in somewhere - I looked around and the only place I saw to change it was in the preferences.

Also, I think showing how many people have bookmarked you is a very beneficial concept. As soon as I saw that my first thought was, "Wow, I'd better really put some effort into ALL of my posts if that many people are reading them." It's kind of a self-check mechanism so that we don't get out of line (As I and others have been known to do on occasion). It is also just an interesting statistic.

Take care and keep of the good work,
Gary

Brad, on the Yahoo message board, they have a feature where you can enter a message number to retrieve that message. Better yet, if you could have a dialog box(es) where you can enter from message number to message number for down load - that would be a lot better than what you have now.

What do you think?

Sincerely,

Mary Cluney

Hi Brad,

How do you respond with ITALICS and BOLD in your message.

Thanks,
