Yes, I have lived here almost my whole adult life, and the San Francisco Chronicle is definitely basically a liberal newspaper in its editorial policy. The Examiner, on the other hand, is very conservative. As far as news content goes, however, they both report pretty evenhandedly, and very credibly I think. The Chronicle has really good science articles, in my opinion. Is there any medical data suggesting that snorting cocaine can cause a crooked member? I would suspect that at one time he dabbled fairly heavy in cocaine, but the times were really different. My boss kept his right in his desk, and it was not uncommon to see executives with that tell-tale white crust on their nostrils, grinding their teeth usually too. I am personally not disturbed by that. The late seventies and early eighties were rife with cocaine, and it was a socially acceptable, status drug. I am more concerned with perjury, subornation of perjury, and obstruction of justice.

I'm still waiting for the major papers to start discussing the fact that Bill was a drug addict, particulary Cocaine. I think you'll be waiting a long time. Real drug addicts become dysfunctional, and quite unable to conceal their addiction. Witness Marion Barry.

Real drug addicts in power do things like pardon the biggest drug trafficker (and his own biggest financial backer) in Arkansas. Real drug addicts might have a drug felon for a brother that tells people "the Governor has a nose like a vacuum cleaner". A real drug addict might have chronic sinus problems and a bulbous nose. A little drug-related damage? Allergies indeed! Real drug addicts become dysfunctional and take amazing risks using state employees to procure for their other addiction. A real drug addict might be called an "unusually good liar" by the a prominent member of his party or feel he can get away with anything. A real drug addict ...... it just goes on and on and on and on .....
