I agree that presidents really don't have much control over the economy though their policies can have some effect(many including ex Approp chairman DAn Rowstenkowski say that it was Bush deficit reduc plan that is what is creating the "so called" deficit reduction that we are seeing). The bond market, the fed, and congress also play a big role (and thank god there is a republican congress to keep some balance even though they all want to spend yours and my money as they wish). To trust the DOJ to investigate this WH is not the right thing to do. Unlike prior DOj', clinton's appointees have been quite politcal and are adept in stonewalling. Why would Reno ask for a new IC for Babbitt over bribes but not for campaign funding when there was evidence abound that the WH was crossing the line in trying to get dollars where ever the could. judicial watch has literally found a bomb when Larry Klayman deposes a close aid of Ron brown that said that Ron was pressured by the WH, especially the first lady, to get money for Commerce trips. This could spell huge trouble for the WH while Starr and his team is considering indicting Hillary for obstruction of justice and perjury in her dealing with Madision, Castle Grande, and Whitewater. The Clintons are criminals. Look at the people around them who have been indicted or who have been imprisoned. The most ethical administration ever has turned into the dirties and most corrupt ever. Funny how Leon panetta is really raising a flag in trying to get Clinton to stop his stonewalling. could be that Panetta has something to hide and wants to protect himself.
