Dr Tech--Some questions about this impressive DSLAM-- Will it only have OC-3 out of the egress side, or will other interfaces be available? OC-3 is expensive. Will the DSLAM perform transparent VC matrix switching, or have proxy signaling as an inherent function? Will traffic shaping be implemented within the DSLAM or left as a function of the ATU-R? Will the DSLAM allow termination of the VPI/VCI with a subsequent mapping of the ATM signal stream into an egress VLAN/PVC for concatenation of PVCs? Will the DSLAM hand off the signal to a router or be able to perform an L2TP tunnel encapsulation into another network for VPN-like capability? What are the port densities of the ATU-C card and do they fall within NEBS compliance parameters? A world class DSLAM needs some impressive features. Food for thought. Hal

Dr. Tech: You seem to have significant insight and inside information of potentially great value to shareholders in WSTL. Any theories you might be willing to share with we mortals on why the DSLAM announcement has been met with a big yawn by the market??
