As Paul Harvey would say... Now for the rest of the story... :0)

What they don't tell anyone is that after meticulously fitting their various white rats with minature gas masks hooked up to the tailpipe of a Mack truck, several hours later the rats experienced severe signs of respiratory distress, resulting in eventual death.

I'm HIGHLY skeptical of this kind of VooDoo research. Kinda like exposing rats to 1,000 times the daily dose of Sacharrin and then telling us that Sweet & Low may cause cancer.

But now one cares about the exhaust from one of Mother Natures volcanic eruptions. Nor does anyone seemed concerned about the atmospheric repercussions of allowing Yellowstone Park to enjoy a "natural burn".

Nor does anyone seem to be threatening to limit the use of Jet A in commercial jets. Anyone bother to watch an airliner take off trailing 4 streams of black smoke??

So what do I think of this?? (Besides the obvious) The EPA will have one hell of a fight from EVERY economic sector and their representative politician should they attempt to ban the use of Diesel. Too much of our economy relies upon the fuel, not to leave out foreign nations.

Inane!! That was my first reaction when I read this article two weeks ago.

Regards,

Ron

A friend of mine who owns a truck tractor dealership mentioned several months ago that the gov't. was drawing up a mandate requiring 10% (I think it was 10%) alternative fuels by 1999. That means alternative to petroleum products. Also, Con-Agra is testing motor oil in agricultural and industrial engine power made out of soy bean oil. This is where we're headed. I suspect that U.S. would like to phase out petroleum fuels within (IMO) the next decade. This would, of course, leave Green Oasis high and dry. This might also explain the motivation behind all the bureaucratic control at this time. Just my thoughts.

Resident skeptic:
