I think that Adaptec will report a profit, but the earnings will be on the low side of estimates (maybe even lower). The "reduction in force" measures were taken in response to this and essentially "flat" growth. Once earnings are out we'll find out where the bottom really is, and then its up from there. It may be slow for awhile, but once Symbios is approved and the "New Adaptec" emerges, we will finally see upward movement in the stock price. Accumulate is definitely the key word here for someone with 6 months or more to be patient.

Long on ADPT,
Carl

I have a long list of stocks I have watched over the last year that are dead in the water until earnings come out. Even when the earnings are horrendously bad, the stock goes up. The thinking is, the bad news is on the table and this must be a bottom and all this buying interest comes in; often as the company is being downgraded left and right.
