Investors Business Daily has a front page article on false positives. The director of breast imaging at Massachusetts General Hospital is quoted as saying "We are always looking for new techniques and new devices. We're constantly working with device manufacturers to find cancers earlier and reduce false positive results". I think we might know about a new device manufacturer that they can talk to.

The article also stated that "inncorrect results caused substantial anxiety in 47% of the women three months after the tests were taken." The false positives also created additional expenses to have needless biopies done.I think we know a company that can help solve that problem as well.

To All: We are receiving some very important feedback from our group. Several of the members of our group have discussed CTI with other people they work with, in such places as administration. The feedback that we have received is that CTI has already been into some of the major hospitals and HMO's making presentations about the technology. We have been told that there is indeed interest on the part of these administrations and that they are waiting for formal presentations to be made before review boards. Without divulging sensitive information and potentially getting any of the ladies in trouble I can only say that the hospitals and HMO's involved so far range from medium to extremely large organizations.

The fact that they are actively presenting this technology to the medical community before FDA approval is very encouraging. This answers at least one of my questions that I presented early asking if they were trying to make sales to anyone in the U.S. or Canada, obviously they are. If they are at the stage that they feel they can now start making presentations then they must feel that they are ready to start producing equipment as soon as they get the FDA approval and funding from Ambient Capital. This information has certainly caused us to stand up and take notice, several of our people have started placing initial orders in the stock. We still need more information, but this looks encouraging.

Mr.K, did you see the T.V. program? Did they mention CTI by name or was it just an interview with Dr. Parisky. Did anyone out there happen to see it so we can find out more information.

Everything that I can find out about this laser breast scanning method indicates that they are only able to detect mass, they can not identify if it is cancerous without a biopsy. This is very similar to the way that an MRI slices the material they are looking at into wafer thin slices on a imaging basis so as to spot suspicious tissue. This whole process would be one step up from a mammogram because it doesn't cause the woman to have radiation go through her body, which is potentially cancer producing by itself, but it still does not eliminate the problem of false positives. False positives still create the need for unwanted biopsies. What I haven't been able to find out is how small of a mass they are able to detect. We do know from mammograms that by the time they are finally able to detected a lump it is to late for a lot of women. If I find out anything more I will post it.
