Who cares? The line between therapeutic and recreational use of drugs is a lot blurrier than people think. Go PFE. The point I think some analysts are making (does anyone listen to them anyway?) is that if there is heavy recreational use of the drug that there will be a greater chance of finding some nasty side-effect, sooner. The great mass of people, possibly taking it 4 or 5 times a day (go gramps!), means bad news could come sooner, rather than later. Interestingly, Pfizer says (I don't have a source, however) that Viagra does not help non-ED men. This seems to conflict with the anectodal evidence provided by some of the posters here. The good news is that this is a problem because of the record number of scripts that will be dished out for Viagra. 2 weeks ago Viagra was 0% of the ED market, now it is 80%. Once Pfizer actually markets the thing (what a concept) that number should move close to 100%. Who the hell wants to get an injection, or stick a supository, in there? Also, as I mentioned a while back as a reason for getting into PFE in the first place, many of the men who in the past would not acknowledge a problem in this area will be comforted to know the solution is only a popping-pill away. What is amazing to me is that most of the current scripts have no doubt come from men who were already taking a treatment , just not a painless one. As soon as this thing is marketed, I believe our first week numbers will be dwarfed. One last thing, keep in mind that the numbers we are getting so far are for scripts covered by insurance only. It does not count cash sales. However, while the first couple of days of Viagra sales were mostly cash according to my pharmacist wife, it seems lately that most have been covered. So, while the number of actual scripts is higher than given, it might not be hugely higher. Also, I'm not sure who came up with the multiple of $250/script, because most of them are not for an entire bottle. In fact, my wife was only given one bottle to split up the first day! I have heard conflicting reports about PFEs ability to announce a stock split. Do they have enough shares right now without getting shareholder approval? -jsc
