Capt., I'm tending to go with your style of looking for bottom fishing opportunities, but also am trying to understand the strategies of identifying winners which will keep going up: the INTC, MSFT, LU, of old...

UTI looked REALLY good after you brought it to my attention. (Excellent fundamentals, beaten down tremendously in a short period of time, part of a cyclical industry, mis-identified as an oil company, etc..) I really like MACD as an indicator, looking for divergences. UTI was a classic! It's pressed up against the upper Bollinger band right now... What do you think? Breakout or pullback?

It's stocks like Home Depot (HD) and Lucent (LU) I'm trying to figure out. HD's MACD says SELL but also does not look like a reliable indicator for HD when looking at the historical 18month chart. It just kept going up.

I thought LU looked good at 71 and asked a broker about it. He said to wait for a pull-back because it had had too great a run-up. BTW, that was 71 BEFORE the split! Didn't buy it... rats.

These are examples of the "winners" I'm trying to figure out...
