Have NOT repurchased...patiently waiting. 2.) I pay taxes as I go...never can tell what USam is gonna do down the road. 3.)Yes, taxes have to be paid eventually on IRA annuitized w/drawals. The myth/theory is: our tax bracket will be lower N our retirement yrs.

Now I ask you this, from a Spockian POV:
Largest demographic bulge hitting the retirement years "simultaneously"
How can gov't survive when there isn't enough tax $$ to pay bureaucrats? Yeppers, they'll get it from us babyboomers. Urge to increase taxes upon us will be irresistible.

Furthermore, here's anecdotal evidence.
We just buried my mother-in-law---may she rest in peace. She was quite "comfortable" financially. And at 78 she still had to worry about paying taxes. And she hated paying taxes on all those pensions and dividend income as she experienced "tax bracket creep" until she drew her last breath.

I don't believe it will be any different for us then, Judy, than it is for the "comfortable" now. Just another gov't spin/myth!

BTW, my first warning sign of impending tax bracket creep in the serious to hurricane sized gale warnings, is when the govt finally breaks the life insurance lobby and taxes the immediacy and tax-free pass through of whole life insurance proceeds upon death, one of the last truly fine shelters currently in existence.

The ROTH IRA "invention" is a step toward that type of implementation.
So keep your eyes open, and please re-think the "tax" bite as you go abhorence.
