I have been following National Vision Associates for a long time. The company was a wall street darling about 4 years ago when they started operations as "Vision Center" located in WAL-MARTS. The early success led to ambitious over-expansion leading to losses. They expanded into Venture stores and also in many countries aboard. They learnt from that lesson and last year, decided to close all foreign operations and decided to focus on quality and service in the stores in WAL-MARTS. The stock has been turning slowly from 2 3/4 to 4 3/8 over tje last few months and then comes this 5/8 point gain today with moderately heavy volume. Its old high is about 26. With Wal-wart gaining market share the shares of NVAL tend to go up as well. The company does very little advertising and it is not generally known that it is "inside WAL-MART" but not part of it. This makes it a unique buying opportunity. Any old NVAL lovers out there? Individual Investor has recommended the stock as a growth and turnaround story a few times. All comments are welcome. | ||||||||||||||
