Is the jury still out?

Well, maybe its more like they are trying to execute under a microscope and every little misstep gets treated like headline news. Making a half million of anything every month, coming off an experience base of zero not too long ago, is no small undertaking. And the troubles MOT has had should tell us that making cdma handsets isn't at all like just stamping things out with a cookie cutter. If not a word of this problem (except possible hints from a certain NZ subscriber) was heard until yesterday, how big of a deal is it. Certainly not as big as MOT having a customer rip out $500 Mil. of infrastructure. Also, remember that the bulk of the problem seems to have been with a supplier's part that was out of spec tolerance. (Not to say good Q-control shouldn't catch that before it leaves the factory). If anything, these kinds of problems tell me that Q is still a manufacturing startup and has not even begun to reach its stride in terms of profitability or, alas, quality control.

If Ramsey will allow me a baseball metaphor, we are clearly still in the early innings. The coaches have a great gameplan and the team is stacked with talent. The runs will come, even if we do foul one off now and then.

Maurice, I like your Dow 16000 signoff so much I've decide to invent one of my own:
