Angels Don't Die : My Father's Gift of Faith
by Patti Davis

In Angels Don't Die, Patti Davis pays moving tribute to her father, the former US President Ronald Reagan, and to the gifts of spirituality he bestowed on her.

Ronald Reagan's political career has been observed from every angle, but his role as a father to his daughter has been seen only in the harsh light of Davis' well-publicized tensions with Nancy Reagan. But now, Davis has reconciled with her mother and the catalyst was Angels Don't Die. In fact, her parents were so touched by the book they have contributed introductory comments.

Angels Don't Die is a moving tribute to Ronald Reagan's spiritual strength and offers an intimate portrait that will appeal to people everywhere who admire the Reagans, as well as to anyone contending with the challenges of parent-child relationships. This book is both a spiritual elegy and a letter from the heart that reunited an estranged family--an inspiration to all.

Betty,

That may be a valid reason but I know that I wouldn't be willing to suffer estrangement from my parents just because I wanted my peers to think I disagreed with them politically.

I didn't have to become an adult to know that my parents, even with their failings, truly loved me.

My guess is she had a desire to reconcile with her father before the Alzheimers got too serious because it would have been terrible to live the rest of her life thinking that her father thought she hated him.

Only my opinion.
