Rob,

This isn't meant to be a cheap shot, but what happened? Your last series of posts have been extremely informative and thought provoking. Where is the Ed/Rob ANCR bashing tag-team that we knew so well? <g>

To All,

I can add a little information to the McData/EMC/Brocade relationship.

McData, a subsidiary of EMC, bought the HP Fibre Channel division (Canada). A number of Brocade people worked there, but couldn't get the switch finished. McData has now finished the development. As to what features this switch will offer, or the price point, I don't know. I do expect that EMC will use this switch, and thus will probably NOT be an OEM candidate for Brocade or Ancor.

As to any potential OEM deals from Compaq, I think that is very unlikely, due to their existing hub relationship with Vixel. (Given Vixel's recent acquisition of Arcxel.)

I think Ancor's leading candidates for OEMs are IBM, Hewlett-Packard, and Sequent. (I know, I have been talking about Sequent for a long time, with no results, but they have been shipping NUMA-Q for a while now, and will likely need the scalability at some point.)
