Hello, I was able to find a library out here with internet access. I called my broker (Waterhouse) wed night and was delighted with the news - then what happened yesterday was an utter shock. I just read that Microsoft has been shouting, this is nonsense. Anyway I'm very disappointed as a lot of paper profit disappeared but I'm in for the long haul. Picked up more shares at 33 yesterday, but I'll have to sell when it gets back to 40 as I am overly extended now. Like I said before I left, too bad there isn't a security tied to the fundamentals and financial performance of the company (NORMALLY this is called the 'common stock'). Just have to maintain our convictions and realize we are a lot smarter than the Street, KTEL and the others make that pretty evident. Probably CHKPF should lose $1/share next quarter and the stock will go up to 100.
When I get back I want to check up on Peter Lynch's book, I think he mentioned that MRK stock sat still for several years and then finally took off like a rocket. Rereading this should be comforting.
As long as the fundamentals keep improving as they are, we have made the right decision, at some point the stock will correctly reflect reality. I still believe at some point the stock will shoot past fair value and become a glamour stock, we will be able to crow then.
