Hi Janice,

the price of cigarettes discriminates against
the increasingly low income group of people who buys them.

The very wealthy are a special group. They know that the ordinary rules of life do not apply to them. Smoking is no exception. Also they couldn't care less about what others think. (Our private grammatical joke, Janice.)

Janice, I am curious as to whether Italy's public health department, or whoever would do things like that, is attempting some campaign yet to reduce smoking, or at least curtail it in public buildings and such.

While smoking certainly seems to still be occurring in Ireland, their laws are quite stringent against it, and I think it will gradually fade away there.

Of course, now that I recall the toddlers have ashtrays on their trikes, it seems like a silly question. I guess they will be putting little plastic pockets in disposable diapers, just big enough for a pack and some matches (since most lighters are child-proof these days).
