SI and Tulips? I am not willing to make that call.

$33 mil sounds like a lot of money. But is it? Every little penny-ante web community out there has been snapped up for millions, and SI is a PREMIER site and getting better with time.

Plus it's $33 mil in stock. GNET stock is bound to pull back, maybe by 50%.

I say, put all the brainpower on this site together and you have one helluva potential for SOMETHING. Don't sell us short!

Hiram,

I think SI has an incredibly strong brand. (And not a bad name, either, with Latin America coming on strong ;-*)

If anything, it was GNET that got the great deal for only about 1.5 million shares of their stock. And while web tulipmania may be in full blossom for this season, there will be many more seasons as this medium is just dawning. The emphasis should be on choosing the companies that have the resources to make it over the long haul, unless you just want to play with the mood of the market on any given day.
