A few thoughts.

1) The earliest MSFT can come out with anything to compete
is with NT v5 which won't come out until early 99.
Am I correct in this? By that time, CHKPF's market share
will grow more too.

2) Firewall users are mostly system people, not everyday
consumers. I find it hard to believe that companies will
rip out their FW1 and replace them with MSFT's Proxy Server.

3) A little less than half of CHKPF's revenue comes from the UNIX
platform. Unix servers are growing too and I don't think MSFT
is going to touch that either.

4) Floodgate is going to bring in rev soon. MSFT is not coming
out with anything like that.

5) CHKPF is now at PE 26.
CHKPF's growth rate is over 100%. Let's say MSFT totally
kill off the NT FW1 rev. It's growth rate will still be
50% on UNIX products alone.
