Dear Emile : Let me share with you some of my viewpoints on doctrine and teaching; I hope and pray this helps you in a practical way but I will pray the Lord meets your need himsel. The purpose of all doctrine is to communicate the gospel to people in need. All doctrine ; therefore to be effective, must speak to a point of need. Man is cut off from God in one of three ways. 1. By being human and therefore being less than holy. 2. rebellion. 3. inherent wickedness or immorality. II Cor 4:3 Eph 4:7 When separated from God man becomes his own point or reference. Gen 3:5 "Ye shall become as Gods". My point : Unless there is a need to discuss doctrine ; first and foremost always question there is a need. Then recognize that where there is a need you are dealing with alienation and isolation; of an extreme nature for alienation of the spirit is ultimate. Very good point .. The bible is not your God. The authority and power behind the bible is not your God. God initiated His word and surely to God He does not need us initiating occasions to spread the doctrine found in the bible. Where doctrine and teachings are concerned the Lord will lead US into the situations where we can then draw on the teachings and doctrine we all have a wealth of to meet the present need. Man, even many Christians are filled with anxiety, lack of meaning, so therefore why the purpose of doctrine'''' to get to the truth right..what is the truth, ? The truth is brother Emile, that we have a lot in common. Even to a sinner of the worst kind, Brother we have a lot in common with them too for we were once lost too. Correct doctrine will bring about good communication, finding out what we have in common will bring about good communication. After we find out what we have in common; then we can find out how we differ, but first truth and common ground , and good communication has to be established first. Why should anybody listen to us. ? SIMPLE because the object of our faith is the ANSWER. Not the sincerity of our BELIEF. We can have doctrinal faith. saving faith, justifying faith, indwelling faith, daily faith, the gift of faith but of all these what is the greatest faith. Saving faith. Right. Because it requires our all and we must give it Up Front ! In one giant leap of faith when we were saved we acknowledged that. We are a Christian now. That we believe. That man is a sinner. that God will punish sin. That we are yielded to God. That we love the Lord with all our heart mind and soul. That our sin is transferred to Christ Gal 2:20 and the protection of purity was transferred to us II Cor 5:21. So it is at that point that our ability to lead a victorious life depends on our faith. PERIOD. A sinless life cannot , is not , never will be brought by our own desires. For victory realize faith comes from God, we must yield to God, and last, obey the word of God. But if you cannot do all three all the time just realizre that faith comes from God and pray the Lord cuts us a lot of slack on the other two. Getting into the Word, will make the process of our faith growing a lot easier but it really takes a multifaceted approach....biblical principles, seeking, confessing sins, surrender, communion, testing of difficult situations... Hope this helps my brother..I am only trying to help in a practical way; if anything here hits home it wasn't meant to by me, I am "teaching this as I would a Sunday School class.. In Christ gregor
