Mark, Re: "I just received my new Compaq computer with Pentium processor at work. What a
relief---What a difference. Go intel!!!!!! AMD and CYRX just don't compete."

Gee, I thought that, unless you went to the real high end chips, AMD chips were equivalent to Intel's. ;-]

I got a new PII, with all new peripherals last week myself. The big differentiators to me are the PII, of course, and the Sony 200GS monitor. To those that say that processor speed doesn't matter much, unless you are doing processor intensive aps, I disagree. Just going through my mail, or booting up (plug and play included), or switching and using office aps and other non-net related activities, all go much much faster. Doing these mundane tasks many times a day, the faster speed of the processor makes the time savings really add up, making a big difference in productivity. For example, if I had 100 emails, with the old 486-50 it took at least an hour to get through them. With the PII, it took about 10 minutes. To those that don't believe it, try it.
