Nah, I think it's kind of funny myself.
What's really funny is when, no matter how the day has gone, it usually seems to close with a sell as the last trade of the day regardless of when it's made - even if it has to mysteriously appear at 3:59:59. If intentional, this practice is called "painting the tape"
in market terminology.

The quote server for SI appears to specify "uptick" or "downtick" by whether the
last trade was different than the one before it. In official terms "uptick" or "downtick"
is supposed to be based on whether the last change in the bid price was up or down.
