"If any of you had the opportunity to see our department in action the past few days, I think you'd have a different opinion of the hard working professionals that are here to serve you. "

Thats just the point! - We HAVE seen your department in action and we don't like what we see.

If ... you [could] ... see our department in action ...

So put up a webcam and dispel the doubts. Josh (of Island fame) can provide any necessary technical guidance.

Dear Tim Richter:

<<I know that many of you have been frustrated the past few days>>

Well, that's an understatement...I think the proper emotional term is Irate! But, I for one, will not be frustrated or irate much longer...my MBTrader application is in the mail...while I am laughing all the way to the bank, the customers that are still hanging on to Datek will continue to cry all the way to the PoorHouse like they have the last two days.

<<I wanted to let you know that we are working hard in Customer Support>>

Whatever...just so you know, most of us aren't even trying to get satisfaction through "Customer Support", so if you think you are accomplishing your task just remember all those people you are dealing with are only a small percentage of the people that are permanently pissed off at Datek.

<<I appreciate your patience while we get to each and every concern that crosses our desks!>>

I don't have the patience to wait that long...if the past is any indication, I will be successfully trading at another brokerage before you even answer half the e-mail complaints you have been receiving.

<<If any of you had the opportunity to see our department in action the past few days, I think you'd have a different opinion of the hard working professionals that are here to serve you.>>

I'm sure you are all very nice people who try your hardest to resolve these issues...but...none of your help can get my orders executed in a timely and efficient manner.

So, I'm afraid I must bid farewell...Datek deserves a pat on the back for all the decent trades I got in the past when Datek was working...And they deserve a good swift kick in the ass for all the problems its customers have had when it doesn't work...no system is perfect, but I can't trust my money to a brokerage that won't tell their customers the straight poop about WHAT THE PROBLEM IS...I think all the posts in the past three days has shredded the NASDAQ excuse..

We're tired of excuses...we want accountability and results...

Can't wait to get my MBTrader application.

Rod

I almost open an account at Datek...

Yes, almost.

I sign up on line to Datek last weekend to open an account. I immediately received a confirmation that an application will be sent on Monday for me to sign. On Monday, I received another e-mail explaining about the process of transferring my account from another broker to Datek.

Today, it's Saturday and I still haven't received the application forms. I bet Datek doesn't want my money, do they? I have a good size account and I trade on the average of twice a day. Think about how much commission I generate in a year?

I almost sign up with Datek after reading about the fast execution by Datek from people on SI. This week, my opinion has completely changed. From what is described by people on SI, one can't not even get a trade at market or sign up to Datek on-line let alone gets a fast execution at a good price.

Hey Datek, if you can't even send me an application fast enough in a week, how do I expect for you to execute my trade in a timely manner? I think I am going to call MB Trading now. I just hope that with all the people flocking over to MB Trading, their execution does not go down the toilet as Datek.

One thing you should learn Datek, is that if your capacity does not allow you to take in more customers, you should refuse to let new people sign up until you can add more equipment. But the worse thing is to make false promise and piss off your existing (and future) customers.

Sincerely,
Mike.
