This is correct, but in the long run we are all dead. case in point...

if you had bought the NIKKEI in 1989 when it was at 37,000, you would still be dwn 43% and it is almost 10 YEARS later. That is not my idea of a smart investment.

Case in point #2...

if you had bought the DOW at the top of the 1973 mkt, it took you until 1980 to just get back to even!

For me, the key to investing is to buy value, hold it and dump it when the everybody wants it. Right now, EVERYONE wants US equities.

I'm buying gold stocks and Japan because everybody hates them. Holding my drillers but hedged. my puts go pretty far out.
