Sunday, Feb 16 1997 9:29PM ET Reply # of 2409 Bernie turned down $36 from GTE. The CFO told the troops" why would we accept $36 when our stock will be at $60 next year". I don't know whether or not that is realistic, but WCOM is solid and is a good buy here. This is the only reference I can find to a Bernie prediction. Friends of mine, inside the company and fairly well placed, have mentioned the "$100 in 3 years" projection a number of times. I have also heard 50% growth per year for the next 5 years as a prediction from the top. Either way, I shan't sell.
