Someone, way way back, made some reference to your being from Cambridge. I surmised that since you did not correct that person on that point that it amounted to a stipulation.

Michael Cummings once said something about people who grew up in Cambridge, went to Wellesley, and then worked for newspapers in New York or San Francisco.

Obviously he wasn't talking about me.

Duncan, there are three articles I stumbled across reading John Hensley's url earlier this morning.

The first is that Mack McLarty is resigning. He is Clinton's friend from kindergarten. It has been predicted before that people would start bailing from the administration if things got bad. Have they? Or is this simply coincidence? I think that the most significant resignation would be Mike McCurry, and of course that has not happened.

Then there is a cover letter from George Bush firmly supporting Ken Starr. I guess he was acting on his own experience as president when he came out in favor of Secret Service agents not being forced to testify, but now he is clarifying his underlying positions on the scandals.

Finally, Clinon is making a big deal out of his upcoming China trip. I guess he can't get into too much trouble if he is seen as being presidential in one foreign country after the next until his term is over! Anyway, he will be gone from June 23 through July 3.
