OZ, or Emerald Green

The moving vehicle made little or no noise and did not interrupt Jill's musings. She was still thinking about Fred's complaint, she would have to get somebody to take a look and see if anything could be done. It wasn't often that she took a direct hand anymore but it would be wise in this case. Pending legislation from the World Body Politic could affect SI, though it was not likely. SI had one of the most powerful politic lobbies in existence. Gates could wield more straight points but couldn't match the extended pressure SI could bring to bear. In any event, Fred's vote could help and if there was a problem she could help clear up for him it could be remembered when the chips were down. Fred had a small but loyal cabal of politic points.

She glanced around and was amazed at the quiet efficiency and beauty of the environment. She was passing through a concourse section where Low G vacationers came to gather and enjoy the views. At any time AEGIS was home to approximately 1500 visitors in addition to the full time residents. Many were geriatrics who came to participate in the rejuvenation programs hosted by SPZpharm, a dominate bio-engineering firm that kept private facilities on AEGIS. The processes were very expensive but added a significant term to a life, especially if undertaken when well on in years.

"Hey Jill, hold on a sec", a young man loped along side her slowing vehicle, "When did you get in ?, Finn, why didn't you tell me", he asked as he vaulted into the seat beside Jill. His easy manner spoke of long familiarity and the small SI Ski Pin attached to his shirt bespoke his full time residency on AEGIS.

Jill smiled as she looked at the young man grinning in the seat beside her, "Just now Jon, and Finn didn't tell anyone because I told him not to."

Jon Graystone laughed and spoke to the air in front of him "Finn, override gray, voice verify, Jill's arrivals, add to exec, verify."

"Jill McKinney's arrivals will henceforth be reported to you Jon, you could have asked more nicely." a trace of a smile appeared in the gentle computer voice, if that was possible.

Turning to the elegant women beside him, Jon reassessed her contemplative stare. Jill was as always, dressed in the finest business wear that megacredits could buy. "Well, now that that is out of the way, what gives, why the quiet ?"

The small vehicle gained speed again as it continued to Emerald Green and Vertiginous Heights, the concourse gave way quite suddenly to a small corridor, a Gareson Fieldlock, the transition from the concourse to the corridor and out again to the bright light and was almost immediate and the warm air of Emerald Green suddenly surrounded them.

Jill considered for a second before realizing that Jon would eventually find out anyway.
"Well, you might as well come along, I am going to OZ right now and you will find out anyway."

The small vehicle continued on it's way through the wide gardenlike space. Machines of varying description could be seen moving about in the fields.
