Ah, you understand. I'll probably never "want to". What I wish is that I'd simply never started. As you've said, smoking becomes so very much a part of one's life.

I did quit once, for about three months. I (naturally) bummed ciggies from others, but you can't really smoke very much that way. I found it hard, but not all the time, and not as agonizingly difficult as some people apparently do. I don't think I really missed the nicotine, but I certainly did miss SMOKING. I'd previously thought it was just a bad habit; I realized that I actually enjoy it.

One thing I found interesting: the days seemed so looooonnnnggg. Stretched to two or three times their normal length...
