I've seen a number of competing sites and technologies in passing that promise to do this, but, for now, I think they are only small labels that are willing to put their tracks out there for piracy reasons that haven't quite been fully solved yet. An analysis of the competing security technologies and the music vendors would be an interesting bit of research to do and write up, but I haven't done it. Any opinions on whether TUNE will become an on-line music vendor soon, or whether they are really focussed just primarilly on developing a broadcast-style music video and informational content medium as far as the Net goes?

Bill,

Sorry for brief reply. On honeymoon. Yes, there is company [name slips mind] that currently allows you to select your favorite songs for a custom CD that you buy at a slightly higher cost. Very useful. Things will go this way soon. Looked for it in record store, but doubt that we will see it there, due to inventory investment. Search AltaVista, Yahoo, etc. for "custom CD." May get lucky and find what you want.

Thanks,
