Just depends how long that long-term is.

I expect these prices (90-98) to appear relatively cheap by the time Windows 98 is released in June. Nevertheless, I would not be surprised to see a week or two in the low 80s between now and then. As to whether that kind of dip will actually occur, I don't know.

What I do know is that I continue to be amazed by BG & co. MSFT has its fingers in virtually every front of the information business. To view the company as a mere (albeit very large) software company is to underestimate its potential. In my mind, MSFT will wind up being the Berkshire Hathaway of the information business. Unlike WB, however, BG is not adverse to stock splits -- thank God ;)
