E-Trade and National Discount Brokers... Now they have their moments. Sometimes you have to raise cain with them. But they are about the best ... I have heard Ameri-trade is pretty good also but I do nto know much about them

Hi Richard...on speed and integrity issues ONLY, I can give Schwab top marks. They're very fast, and if they have a screw-up, they're very responsive and they'll make good ASAP... but they charge a bloody fortune - $29.95 for 1st 1000 shares, .01 per share after that

And since I personally don't need the speed (I've only bought and sold the same stock in a single day ONCE in my life, and it was due to Schwab's entire system failure last week...way too scary for me not to know if my limit order went through or not for over 6 hours, but that's just me), I just finished the paperwork to close out my Schwab account.

But if you're looking purely for speed, they're excellent.
