I agree. MSFT will probably be lower priced a short time from now. Some people will profit from this and others may not. I wouldn't be a buyer here. However, I'm not selling either. As I see it, this is the time for TRADERS to make, or lose, plenty of money. I'll do nothing. Happy trading, PW.

P.S. I'm long MSFT since 1989, and I possess no desire to send cheque to the tax man in 1999.

Franco, RE: Shorts

I'm happy for you if you can make money on the downside, and very interested in hearing you TA of MSFT. For me, I'm not nimble enough to buy short/puts and make money. Someday I will learn how.

Make the volatility pay both ways!!

Chris

PS As far as a dissenting opinion, please feel free to express as long as it is what you really feel. I just don't like people who jump on a thread and stir people up for their own entertainment. BTW, I don't think your or my opinion will drive the stock price either way. <g>

<<It is really stupid to short this stock at this point. Just look like suicide !!!>>

Ooh, and I'm just a short hyper of MSFT. Touched a nerve, did I gentlemen? Can't stand to have a
dissenting opinion on your little cheerleading thread? Look, I have already explained that I believe
MSFT is a long term core holding. In the very short term, however, it will go down with the rest of
the market next week. I didn't short the stock - only bought May put options which I plan to dump by
Tuesday or Wednesday with a triple. After that, I hope you all make zillions when the stock goes to
150 or 500 or whatever you think it's worth. My TA for next week is pretty clear and the stock should
fall.

I am short MSFT at 91 or so average price. My TA also shows it diving together with the rest of the market. Sydney (I'm in Canberra, Australia) is already down today as is Tokyo which is a good sign. I'll be seeing how London/Frankfurt open later.

Maid money last week shorting MSFT at 97.5 and covering at 93.5 - only made a few bucks but it was fun!

David

hmmmmm

and how much did your suicide play net you???

or have you sold your puts yet....

btw, you cant ignore the fact that states are ganging up to put a stop to Windows 98 release...

will they be successful?

I dont think so BUT MSFT might as well have the Italian Mafia after them because they will be running for the rest of their lives....and there aint no witness protection program on Wall Street...

(btw, I am equal opportunity offender)
