Even if "gas is there", that does not mean it will be economical to produce. The trick is size of the reservoir, gas analysis, and production testing. These are the questions which need to be asked. A strong negative on either one can render the well a dud. That being said, the area is home to some boomer wells and Northrock Energy has been successful in the area by recompleting old wells uphole in different zones. If a gas-bearing Leduc zone was there, it would have shown on the well logs & during drilling with gas shows which would have been noticed in the drilling mud returns by the wellsite geologist.
