VectorVest is not a "research firm" as Fink describes it. VectorVest is a database of financial and stock market statistics from which automated programs produce investment opinions based on traditional valuation formulas across all sectors.

VectorVest does zero research. VectorVest does not study industry trends, does not consider new and old technology, does not talk to CEO's, CFO,s, customers or suppliers, does not consider management, business models, pricing structure, competition and market penetration and does not consider asset and acquisition valuations.

In a nutshell VectorVest is statistical analysis subject to "garbage in, garbage out". Although the statistics used may be accurate, not all factors are taken into consideration and the formula may be flawed based on sector differences. I would not use the same formula to value a bank as I would for an airline for instance.

If you want your investment decisions automated without the interjection of human thought, imagination and insight then VectorVest is for you.
