I remember when you bought those Jan 98s & 99s; I had some at the same time. I was really disgusted at the VSGN deal, because the stock had just topped out at 12 when the next day it sinks to 8 or 9 or something. As it turned out, those 98s expired worthless (my greed didn't have anything to do with it, now did it?).

But I still have 99's & 00's, and think I may come out on them. I just hope they don't [foolishly] get in to more acquisitions. After these last two deals, I'd hope they question the value in buying software technology. It was clear from the outset they overpaid for VSGN; but it is even more clear now. If you consider the dilutive effects of these transactions, you really have to question whether the stock is substantially overpriced today.

I have traded options a good deal in the past. But I think this incident with VSGN is the first time I can remember any expiring as a result of the company just giving away free stock (what I think they did w/ VSGN). You know, I sound angry, don't I?

David,

In hindsight the last year or so was good for call writers and may continue to be for the time being. I also have some 99 LEAP's. I did look at some of the out-of-the-money short term options but couldn't swallow them. I thought that they are a bunch of scam. Hopefully, Borl will do better in the 2nd half and make those SOB MM's pay.

Go ' ', or at least don't go down too much :-)
