Sounds like Solectron is copying Flextronics.

Solectron Press release today:

"With addition of Romania, we will be able to offer our customers a low-cost, high-volume outsourcing solution in Europe," said Dr. Ko Nishimura. "We have recently added this capability in Mexico to serve our Americas region and Suzhhou, China for our Asia Pacific region."

Flextronics is well ahead of Solectron in China and Eastern Europe, which are two key markets, as they have been there for a long time and it is difficult to grow a greenfield business there as a lot of local market knowledge is required. Flextronics also has key customers signed up in these geographies. Wonder when investors will start to give Flextronics credit for the key geographic/strategic/low-cost capability and customer relationships Flextronics has built up in these difficult to enter regions of the world?

My opinion.
