with all due respect, i think this is a fairly naive statement (out of character for you, e-s). microsoft acquired webtv to gain control of an additional os and application platform. as such, it is unlikely that a company softquad's size can arrange any sort of favorable agreement with webtv.

to do so, they would have to establish a sizable beachhead on another platform (like playstation) before anyone will take them seriously in the web/edu/ent space.

also... in its current state, webtv is not a gaming platform and until ms ports directx or a viable high-performance graphics library to it, it can not hope to compete with n64/playsta, etc.

just my opinion.
